Week 5, Part I

Ujin Lee recently completed the series, “Dust.” The photographs personify the presence of dust in our everyday environments as a sort of living creature. Though only present for a moment, the constantly lurking dust- which is probably just baby powder- gives an eerie movement and added dimensions to the photograph. I’m not sure how they created such beautiful destruction in such desolate scenes, but I believe they are extremely successful. Especially for Ujin Lee, who’s strong suit is portraiture. I find it nice that he’s stepping outside of his boundaries and exploring the other realms of photography. In the wise words of Smashmouth, “We could all use a little change.”
