Chronicles

By Lindsey Mulla

Last night I saw the movie Chronicle, the movie was incredible.  It is a science - fiction super hero movie directed by Joshua Trank. Three high school friends gain superpowers after making an incredible discovery.Soon their lives begin spinning out of control as it becomes unbearable to hold on to the powers they have.

As a troubled teenager Andrew uses a his new video camera to record his experience. The found footage is used as an aesthetic diverting the attention to various perspectives.  Andrews mother who suffering from cancer he documents. His mother asks "Who's  the audience?" He replies. "Just millions of people watching at home."
The movie exposes the intense results that is heightened by the cinematic approach that diverts the viewers attention. The use of combing the found footage was incredible. It is one of my favorite works it adds a spectacular vision.
