Week 2, Part II

Stephen Meisel is one of the most influential fashion photographers of our time. Featured in US Vogue, Italian Vogue, and W (among others) Meisel has had the opportunities to work with infamous designers such as Versace, Valentino, and Calvin Klein. (The list goes on, trust me.) However, my favorite work of his is the Spring 2007 Vogue Italia series. The photographs are so chaotic, but very tastefully represented. They’re almost painterly images, flowing and contrasting all at once. It’s inspiring to see the use of different backgrounds and settings other than the traditional white/black seamless in the studio. I think experimenting with crazy print like this would be fun, but very difficult. I certainly would plan it out carefully before shooting.
